When you first need to access a new HubSpot portal, getting the right level of permissions is important for being able to access to what you need. Follow these steps to get it right.

Step 1 of process

Draft an email to the prospect/client explaining that you will need access to their portal and include this video which walks them through the step.

In an ideal world, you will be given Super Admin access, but some clients will be wary of this and prefer to give you tailored preferences not including billing information. In the case of a prospect, they may also want to limit your viewing of contacts.  If they are a prospect, offer an NDA.

If you also need access for other members of the team, or a third party (e.g. Straightarrow) you should also ask at this stage.

Step 2 of process

If an NDA is required, contact one of the Senior Management Team to request one is drafted or to approve one from the client.

Step 3 of process

Once you have the access notification email from HubSpot, check that you can see everything that you need. If you can’t, speak to the client about refining the settings.

Step 4 of process

Make a note of any specific access requirements in the Resources tab in the client's Campaign Centre. These should be reviewed on a quarterly basis and anyone from our partners are removed when they no longer need access.
