Video is an important channel across sales, marketing, and services. It adds a touch of personality to a marketer or their business, it can enhance training videos, and it often gets your point across far quicker than with written content.

The easiest way to film yourself is by using downloadable software and your machine’s in-built webcam. For this guide, we’ll be using BabelQuest’s preferred video partner, Vidyard.

Step 1 of the process

Log into Vidyard using your account details and click ‘Change Folder’ in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Step 2 of the process

Select ‘Shared Folder’, then click the purple ‘+ New Player’ button on the right-hand side of the screen. Click ‘Camera’ and shoot the video. 

Tip: Remember to be calm, talk clearly, and speak to someone as though they are new to the subject or task. 

Step 3 of the process

Follow the on-screen instructions until you are happy with your recording. Allow a moment for the recording to encode. Once the video has encoded, click ‘Save’ in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Step 4 of the process

You can now send your video in a number of ways: embed a code, send a link, add into an email campaign or post on one of your social media channels. 

Step 5 of the process

Depending on how you want to use the video, you may need to download it from Vidyard to your machine.

After the video has saved, you should be taken to a screen where you can modify its title and view its details. On the right-hand side of the screen, click ‘Advanced’, then ‘Download’.
