Within your first few days of onboarding at Babelquest, you will need to link your Gmail with HubSpot in order to log and track emails. If you’ve never used this feature before, please see below for definitions:
- Tracking an email gives you insight into how the recipient interacts with the email. You'll be notified when the contact opens the email via a pop-up notification on your desktop. This information will also be stored in your HubSpot Sales Chrome extension in the upper right corner of your Chrome browser.
- A logged email is recorded on the recipient's contact timeline in HubSpot. You can keep a record of your email communication in HubSpot but they do not give you insight into open or click information.
Start by downloading the ‘HubSpot Sales extension’ in the Google Chrome store. This can be found here.
Once you’ve selected and followed this link, you will be presented with a dialog box. Ensure you select ‘Add to Chrome’. If this is the first time you've added the extension, you'll be prompted to log in.
Once logged in, open a separate tab and log into your Gmail account. You should now be able to see the Hubspot Sales extension logo alongside your Google Apps logo and Support logo located next to the search bar.
Click on Hubspot Sales extension logo and, if prompted, log in. Once logged in, select ‘Log and Track Settings’ and ensure all email addresses ending in @babelquest.co.uk are not being logged.
Select your log and track details depending on your preference. It is recommended to always have track selected. Each time you send an email, your log and track preferences will be used.
To view an email that is logged, go to HubSpot using the extension and it will automatically be associated to the recipient's contact record, its associated company record, and the five most recent open deal records associated to the contact.
To view tracked, navigate to the activity feed section of your HubSpot account. Before your contact opens the email, the email subject line and recipient will show in your activity feed as Sent. You can also see how your contacts are engaging with your tracked emails from the Chrome extension. To access your activity feed from the Chrome extension, click the HubSpot icon.
