How Cloud Bridge Realigned Sales and Marketing on HubSpot

Challenge

Rapid growth had left Cloud Bridge's HubSpot set-up fragmented, its domain reputation damaged, and sales and marketing pulling in different directions.

Achievement

A full sales and marketing realignment restored deliverability, sped up lead response, and gave a lean marketing team a sustainable way to produce content at scale.

The numbers

  • 0.4% bounce rate by June 2026 - well inside the 2% industry threshold

  • 55% faster lead response - down from 6.9 days to 3.3 days

  • 0% to 9% MQL-to-SQL conversion in four months

  • ~4 hours saved per blog post with organic traffic trending upward against a wider B2B decline

About Cloud Bridge

Cloud Bridge is a Premier AWS Partner, helping SMBs access scalable, cost-effective AWS infrastructure. Having expanded rapidly from the UK into multiple markets, the business had outgrown the HubSpot set-up it started with.

The Challenge

Cloud Bridge had grown fast - expanding from the UK into multiple markets in a short space of time. Sales Hub had been in place since the early days, and as the business scaled, Marketing Hub was added to match its ambitions. With two hubs now running side by side, the natural next step was to bring sales and marketing into closer step with one another.

The most urgent problem was deliverability. As send volumes grew alongside the business, email performance was starting to slip, putting Cloud Bridge's ability to reach prospects at risk if left unaddressed.

Underneath that sat a deeper structural issue. A cross-functional customer journey workshop, bringing together sales, marketing, RevOps and CRM teams, surfaced a full alignment breakdown rather than a simple lead-routing fix:

  • No shared pipeline visibility between sales and marketing
  • No agreed service-level agreements for handovers
  • Mismatched definitions of what counted as a Lead versus an MQL
  • The chance to bring AWS referral follow-up fully into HubSpot, rather than splitting it across systems

On top of this, a lean marketing team was under growing pressure to produce content, with no realistic way to sustain a credible inbound programme through manual effort alone.

The Solution

Rather than treating deliverability, alignment and content as three separate problems, BabelQuest approached the engagement as one. Cloud Bridge moved onto our Managed Services model, with monthly sales and marketing alignment calls built in from day one, and Marketing Hub established as the single source of truth for the business.

Fixing deliverability at the source

Workflows were configured to automatically identify bounced contacts, flag them as non-marketing, and remove them from active sequences straight away. A database cleanup rule set any contact untouched for two years, with no website activity, to non-marketing. Sending strategy shifted from high-volume blasts to consistent, well-targeted nurture campaigns, with HubSpot enrichment and a third-party bounce verification tool checking data quality at the point of entry.

Closing the gap between sales and marketing

Before any technical work began, the two teams agreed shared lifecycle definitions, clear handover roles and defined automation triggers - the groundwork that made everything built afterwards actually stick. Automated workflows now flag and reassign any prospect not claimed within a set window, so every AWS referral is followed up by the right person, promptly.

Giving both teams one shared view

A Sales and Marketing Alignment Dashboard was built to give Cloud Bridge a single, real-time view of the full customer journey: MQL-to-SQL conversion, lifecycle stages, deal histories and lead response times, all in one place.

Solving the content bottleneck

To give a small marketing team the output of a much bigger one, BabelQuest built a custom Breeze Blog Research Agent - Cloud Bridge's own 'Voice of the Customer' agent - trained on their customer call transcripts, brand guidelines, tone of voice, product documentation and SEO requirements. It turns technically complex AWS topics into polished, on-brand blog posts with minimal manual input.

The Impact

The deliverability fix took hold quickly: bounce rate fell to just 0.4% by June 2026, comfortably below the 2% industry threshold, with send volumes now monitored through the alignment dashboard.

Lead response time fell from 6.9 days in May 2025 to 3.3 days by May 2026 - a 55% improvement - while MQL-to-SQL conversion grew from 0% to 9% over the same period. Content output scaled up quickly, from an occasional post to 13 in April, 7 in May and 8 in early June, with the Breeze agent saving an estimated four hours of work per post. Organic traffic is now trending upward month on month, bucking a wider B2B decline, with search visibility strengthening against competitors.

Beyond the numbers, sales and marketing now share a common pipeline view, meet monthly to review the handover process, and hold each other accountable using the same data. HubSpot has moved from a source of frustration to a genuine operational asset for the business.

With deliverability, alignment and content now on a solid footing, the next phase focuses on Marketing Hub's native features to re-engage cold opportunities and use buyer intent data to trigger automated nurture sequences.

Partnering with BabelQuest to align our sales and marketing engines on HubSpot has completely changed how we operate. Not only is our domain reputation restored, but our teams are finally working in perfect sync. HubSpot is now the core driver of our growth strategy.
