HubSpot UNBOUND 2026: what actually matters for your business
HubSpot UNBOUND 2026 (16–18 September, Boston) was HubSpot's annual conference, rebranded from INBOUND. The announcements centred on a single idea: AI agents are only as useful as the customer data underneath them. Here's what changed, and what it means if you run your business on HubSpot.
The number that framed the whole event: nine in ten companies are already using AI tools. Only 6% describe the results as transformative. Everyone's bought the tools. Almost nobody's getting the outcome. HubSpot calls the gap Growth Context, and every product announced last week is built to close it.
What is Growth Context?
Growth Context is HubSpot's term for its Fall 2026 platform strategy: agents perform well only when they're working from complete, accurate customer data. HubSpot has restructured its platform into three layers to support this; a context layer (Smart CRM, Context Home), an action layer (the Hubs, Breeze Assistant, agents), and a coordination layer (Agent Hub, governance).
This is such a clever update from HubSpot. Giving a proper home for context itself, a label, something that people can anchor all their AI activities to is a great step forward. It takes context from seeming like a ‘nice to have, we’ll set up later’ to something that has a direct influence on the impact AI can have in a business - Hollie Higa, Head of Marketing

What changed in the CRM itself?
Smart CRM now updates itself. It reads emails, calls and meetings for CRM-grade detail and suggests the record changes - a job that used to rely on someone remembering to log it. An out-of-office reply naming a new CFO becomes a contact update rather than a fact that dies in an inbox.
Context Home sits above it: one screen scoring how complete your data actually is. Every agent HubSpot has announced reads Context Home before it acts. If your portal has been quietly accumulating gaps, this is the first tool that shows you precisely where, and the first one where those gaps carry a direct cost, since every agent built on top inherits them.
This is the point worth taking most seriously. Agentic tooling doesn't fix a messy portal. It amplifies whatever's already there, confidently and at scale.
Gem Rugg-Gunn, Head of Expert Practices says
This is an update which addresses so much more than just making the CRM easier to use by reducing the manual updates. It addresses a barrier to AI that we’re hearing a lot from customers. They want to use agents, but they’re really concerned about pointing it at data which could impact the outcome. That outcome at best could be a report which surfaces incorrect data - at worst could be giving completely wrong answers to customers and prospects. I’m frequently speaking about this at events and to our customers at the moment, and this kind of update will go a long way to building trust for businesses looking to use HubSpot’s AI tools.
What's new for marketing teams?
Four updates matter most:
- Campaign Agent takes a stated goal and drafts the audience, messaging, KPIs and assets.
- Content Agent writes landing pages, blogs and case studies pulled from a business's actual context, not a generic template. This is a direct response to the complaint HubSpot says it hears most often: AI content that doesn't sound like the brand.
- HubSpot AEO, now in public beta, measures how a business shows up in AI-generated answers, not only Google rankings. Search is splitting across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google, and most businesses currently have no visibility into which side they're winning on.
- Nurture Agent, a Breeze agent BabelQuest has tested in private beta for two months, personalises nurture emails per contact based on engagement rather than static segments. The same sequence can send a technical variant to a HubSpot Administrator and an outcomes-led variant to a CMO, automatically.
Our own Marketing team has been trialling Nurture Agent for the last couple of months and providing the product team with feedback directly. Hollie’s take? “It’s the biggest update to email marketing since personalisation tokens in 2011.”

What's new for sales and service teams?
Prospecting Agent identifies accounts showing genuine buying signals rather than surfacing every contact that fits a filter. Smart Deal Progression recommends the next action after a meeting; updates, follow-ups, who else should be involved - and Buying Groups maps the wider buying committee behind a deal automatically.
Revenue Agent is the one worth watching if finance sits close to your sales process: it automates accounts receivable follow-up, chasing overdue invoices on a schedule instead of relying on someone to remember.
Does HubSpot data now work inside other AI tools?
Yes. HubSpot now has native connectors for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. Any of them can answer questions sourced from live CRM data; pipeline status, contact history, deal notes, all without opening HubSpot directly. The remote MCP server powering all four connectors is now generally available, which matters for any technical team wanting to build a custom agent on top of HubSpot data.
Rollout depth varies by tool: Claude and ChatGPT are further ahead than Copilot and Gemini at the time of writing, so it's worth confirming current status before building a process around any one of them.
What should you do first?
Start with Context Home. It costs nothing to check, and every agent HubSpot has announced depends on what it finds. Fixing data gaps before switching on agents is the difference between an agent that helps and one that scales a problem you already had.
