HubSpot Campaigns: How to Fix HubSpot Campaigns to Include Sales Sequences

Achieve a holistic view of your campaigns by associating sequences to Campaigns with this hack.

Are you a marketer frustrated that HubSpot doesn't allow Sequences as assets in campaigns yet? You're not alone.

What if I told you there’s a way to integrate Sequences into your HubSpot campaigns?

By using static lists in the campaign tool, automatically updated via a workflow triggered by the contact property "last sequence enrolled," you can finally align your marketing and sales efforts effectively. Follow these steps to build it yourself.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Go to Automation > Workflows.
  2. Click "Create workflow" and choose "Contact-based" workflow.
  3. Choose "Contact property" as the trigger type.
  4. Select the property "Last sequence enrolled."
  5. Set the criteria to "is known."
  6. Select "has ever been" for the sequence property.
  7. Go to the Sequences tool in HubSpot and open the specific sequence you want to include. Copy the sequence ID from the URL.
  8. In the workflow, click the plus (+) button to add an action.
  9. Choose "Add to static list."
  10. Either create a new static list or select an existing one.
  11. Click "Review and publish" and then "Turn on."
  12. Go to Marketing > Campaigns.
  13. Open the campaign you want to add the list to.
  14. Under "Assets," add the static list to the campaign.

Bonus step

Check that the static list matches the number of people enrolled in the sequence.

  1. Go to Contacts > Lists.
  2. Open the static list you created or selected.
  3. Ensure the number of contacts matches those enrolled in the sequence.

By following these steps, you can align your marketing and sales teams on a single campaign, ensuring all contacts enrolled in a sequence are included in your campaign reporting.
