How to Use the Campaign Goals Tracker

Here's how to use the Campaign Goals Tracker to set, track, and report on campaign objectives.

Campaign goals shouldn't be a headache. If you're finding it hard to track if your campaigns are actually working, you're not alone. The new Campaign Goals Tracker fixes this. It puts everything you need—setting goals, tracking progress, and reporting—in one place. No more jumping between different screens or guessing if you're on the right track.

This tool makes goal setting simple. Instead of limited options, you get 10+ pre-made goals (like "get more leads" or "boost sales"). It guides you through a quick 3-step setup and gives you easy-to-read reports. Finally, you can see clearly how your campaigns are performing and make smarter decisions.

Step-by-Step Guide

Here's how to use the Campaign Goals Tracker:

  1. Navigate to the Campaigns Performance page within your Marketing Hub.
  2. Locate and click the 'Set campaign goal' button.
  3. Click 'Add goals' to begin the setup process. Here you will be presented with a list of 10+ default campaign goals.
  4. Select the goal that best aligns with your campaign objectives.
    1. Top Tip: If you're launching a new product, "Generate website traffic" or "Increase brand awareness" might be ideal. For a sales-driven campaign, "Generate leads" or "Increase revenue" would be more suitable.
  5. Enter a goal name that clearly describes your objective.
  6. Select the appropriate reporting frequency (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly).
  7. Set specific, measurable targets for your chosen goal.
    1. Example: If your goal is 'Generate leads,' set a target number of leads to acquire within your reporting frequency. This allows you to easily evaluate when you hit your campaign goals.

Use Cases:

  • Use "Increase revenue" to track the success of a seasonal sale campaign. Monitor daily sales and adjust promotions based on real-time data.
  • A B2B company can use "Generate leads" to measure the effectiveness of a webinar campaign. Track the number of sign-ups and adjust follow-up strategies.
  • A startup launching a new product can use "Generate website traffic" to track the impact of their social media campaign. Monitor website visits and engagement metrics.
  • Using "reduce cost per contact" allows a company to understand where their marketing dollars are being spent most effectively. They can then reallocate funds to more effective channels.

By using the Campaign Goals Tracker effectively, you can move beyond guesswork and achieve real, measurable campaign success.
