Ensure Your Automation Only Fires on Workdays
Stop worrying about your automated emails hitting a lead’s inbox at 10:00 PM on a Saturday. HubSpot has finally introduced Business Day Delays, ensuring your automation respects the work-week hustle (and the weekend rest).
The Problem: The "Always-On" Automation
Until now, a "3-day delay" was a literal 72-hour countdown. If a lead converted on a Thursday, your follow-up hit their inbox on Sunday morning—right when it's most likely to be buried under junk mail or ignored entirely.
To fix this, we used to have to build complex "If/Then" branches to check for days of the week. It was a headache for a simple goal.
The Solution: "Skip Weekends" With One Click
You can now toggle delays to only count business days (Monday through Friday).
The Major Benefits:
-
Higher Engagement: Emails land when people are actually at their desks and ready to respond.
-
Smarter Sales Sequences: Ensure tasks for your sales team don't pile up over the weekend, creating a "Monday Morning Mountain" of overdue work.
-
Cleaner Workflows: Replace those messy 7-branch "Day of the Week" workarounds with a single delay block.
How to Apply It:
-
Add a Delay action to any workflow.
-
Choose "Delay for a set amount of time."
-
Toggle on the "Business days only" setting.
-
Sit back and enjoy your weekend, knowing your automation is doing the same.
