Sometimes when people are filling out website forms, they might accidentally (okay, sometimes on purpose) input an email address which isn't correct. This harms your data health, and if it happens too much can ultimately make you look bad in the eyes of the email gods (i.e. you get a lot of hard bounces). And, if it's a genuine mistake, the person filling out their details might not be able to access the resource.
