Primary Purpose

As an experienced digital designer, you will be working in the Expert Practices Team and you’ll be using your skills and vision to put us on the HubSpot map for partners producing great, engaging, designs for their clients (think awards).  You’ll work with a small team of developers and a large team of marketers and HubSpot experts to deliver digital assets and full HubSpot CMS website projects to our varied client base. You’ll also help our clients support their existing marketing assets residing in HubSpot.

Key Responsibilities

TLDR: Building BabelQuest’s reputation for great design work that would be worthy of HubSpot and Industry awards and that will help your colleagues deliver on client goals.

    • Designing great websites, demonstrating to your colleagues and clients best practices for websites that convert visitors to leads.

    • Designing key marketing assets and web pages using industry standard design tools to fit into existing websites and HubSpot portals.

    • Working with a developer on website concepts in such a way that the client is excited by what is coming and that you are comfortable knowing the developers can see a way to build all the elements.

    • Making the BabelQuest Website and Digital Assets a perfect example of the best of HubSpot and so contributing to the impact of our marketing and the growth of the company. 

    • Acting as brand guardian and ensuring the QA of all that BabelQuest produce for itself and for its clients. 

    • Keeping our project management system up to date - a means by which our clients can see the progress on any project at any time. 

    • Keeping the internal teams and the client advised on progress and ensuring that all your projects are delivered to agreed deadlines and to budget. 

    • Supporting the Expert Practices team to document statements of work for the design of websites and digital assets. This will include producing suitable time estimates to utilise in client quotes.

    • Staying up to date on design trends, in order to advise both BabelQuest and its clients on how to continuously develop their brands. 

    • Running design briefings for the entire BabelQuest Team so that they can effectively position our design capabilities to prospects and clients alike.

    • Take all the necessary HubSpot training courses and Academy Certificates, to ensure that you are using the full capability of the platform and developing designs for websites and assets in the most effective way. 

    • Continuously optimising BabelQuest and Client websites to ensure that the graphical elements on the websites are working optimally and contributing towards the meeting of goals.
    • Managing your own personal development time to understand what design  techniques and technology could enhance the delivery of our digital services to clients.

    • Building strong relationships with our clients and growing your personal brand until such a time that organisations are asking for your services when they partner with us.

Who you are / What you can do:

  • You must have four years of experience in a designer role and have a great portfolio of work that demonstrates original thinking and a range of skills. 

  • An agency background would be an advantage as you’ll need to show you can work with multiple clients from different sectors.
     
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.

  • You’ll be able to show expertise with key industry standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Communication skills. There is a lot of collaboration internally and externally so you need to be that special designer who enjoys working and communicating with others.

  • The ability to understand clients’ value propositions and target personas in order to inform your work.

  • Knowledge of web based/UX best practice and have worked on teams delivering full website projects.

  • An ability to articulate design ideas to clients to get their full buy-in. 

  • You’ll be able to demonstrate how you’ve worked with marketers and copywriters to deliver broad digital projects.

  • You’re always looking to suggest new tools and techniques that will impact our teams in terms of achieving client goals.

  • You’ll know something about HubSpot (or want to!) and be open to completing HubSpot Academy Certifications, internal training.

  • You’ll need to show you care for meeting timescales and budgets and how you manage your week.

  • To fit well into the team at BabelQuest you will need to have a strong work ethic with a positive and passionate attitude
